CYPHER PRESENTS DAISY BELLS BY PANAGIOTIS KEFALAS CURATED BY IOANNA GERAKIDI

Panagiotis Kefalas’ solo show borrows its title from a 19th-century song, later remembered as the tune HAL sings while shutting down in 2001: A Space Odyssey, a fitting starting point for a body of work built around collapse, financial, political, personal.

Across Cypher’s rooms, paintings hang solo and in diptychs, flat planes of color that lead into oblivion set against office scenes, pulled from historical documents, film stills, and Kefalas’ own archives.

The show moves through moments that once looked like triumphs, banking booms, market rallies, the kind of progress that later turned out to cost more than it gave, and asks what survives once the story built around them falls apart.
