TWO BOOTS PRESENTS AESTHETIC DISTURBANCES

Photography still has very few dedicated homes in Athens,
which makes Two Boots a magnificent addition to the city’s
artistic panorama, and its opening show proves the point: a
sleek, vast selection built around a simple truth, that a
photograph never stays as simple as it looks. Some of these
images come from pure documentary instinct, others are
staged down to the smallest detail, sitting side by side until
the difference barely registers. A gaze held too long, a body
cropped at the wrong angle, an everyday object lit like a
relic: small decisions that turn recognition into
disorientation and back again. Ten photographers, three
generations, one gallery, asking how much of what we see
is given to us, and how much we build ourselves in the act
of looking.

Participating artists: Talia Chetrit, Felipe Romero Beltrán,
Geoffroy de Boismenu, Yorgos Prinos, Elina Brotherus,
Ange Leccia, Henry Bond, Delphine Kreuter, Jean-Pierre
Khazem, Philip-Lorca diCorcia.
