LIVING ROOM PRESENTS WINTER NIGHTS CURATED BY ELENI RIGA

Vetrnætr. A pre-Christian Nordic ritual, held after the harvest,
one last gathering before winter set in. Communal, practical,
spiritual all at once, a way of staying close to the land, the
ancestors, whatever else moved through the world unseen.
Winter Nights borrows that ritual as its title and its pulse,
bringing together Norwegian, Greek and Icelandic artists a year
after the show first opened in Oslo.
What was once about winter alone now stretches into
something wider, cyclical time, seasonal transformation,
ecological grief. Nordic and Southern animisms meet here,
older ways of relating to the earth pulled back into the present
exactly when they’re needed most.
