RADIO ATHENES PRESENTS SPEED DATING BY LUKAS GSCHWANDTER
SPEED DATING moves through a white, staged apartment where objects hold their pose:
glasses gleaming, furniture alert, touched by a presence that could be from last night or
1950.
Inspired by Aristophanes’ speech in Plato’s Symposium, Lukas Schwandtner presents
new works, including museum benches, lamps, vitrines, pillow chairs, and textiles,
alongside their prototypes, exploring the playful search for “the other half” and the
dualities in life, art, and design.
Canvas, leather, metal, and textiles form quiet, charged chimeras. These contemporary
creations somehow examine how decorative shapes carry traces of behavior, shaping the
ways we inhabit space. The exhibition come together as a domestic choreography where
material, form, and imagination meet, creating subtle emotional connections in a
luminous, suspended interior.
