MELAS MARTINOS PRESENTS WINDOWS BY ROSALIND NASHASHIBI
Rosalind Nashashibi’s exhibition WINDOWS, split between Melas Martinos and ARCH Athens, walks along a tightrope of control and rupture.
Her work carries a quiet, formal discipline ( a request for order?) that’s constantly interrupted by something raw, expressive, and unresolved.
In her films, time swells and contracts; In her paintings, chromatic fields and sharp borders try to contain what keeps leaking out: history, desire and violence.
At ARCH, the moving image loops without conclusion, casting spectral reflections on the everyday. At Melas Martinos, the paintings resist simplicity, luminous, fractured, at once intimate and unsettled.
These are not passive windows; they pulse as expressions of an “outside,” where surfaces hold emotion, containment, and overflow, caught between the urge to frame the world and the impossibility of doing so.
