GRAMMA EPSILON GALLERY PRESENTS: THE THINKING HANDS BY FRANCA SONNINO CURATED BY PAOLO CORTESE AND FRANCESCO ROMANO

13.09.2025 - 8.11.2025

Franca Sonnino doesn’t follow the thread, she is the thread.
In The Thinking Hands exhibition, she’s unraveling five decades of creative momentum straight into the heart of Athens at Gramma Epsilon gallery.

Fresh off the Cagliari retrospective, this sharp, tactile selection, curated by Paolo Cortese and Francesco Romano Petillo, lands like a

soft-spoken but iron-willed manifesto.

It’s not a greatest-hits package but a slow-burning storm of texture, tension, and raw feminine force.

Sonnino’s work isn’t decorative. It’s architectural, rhythmic, and alive, like these frames are breathing with their own lungs.

There’s a subtle nostalgia for an ancient and sensitive kind of art, filtered through a refined, intelligent abstraction that’s entirely her own.
