Benaki PIREOS 138 PRESENTS PEOPLE POWER BY PLATON

A face can hold an entire era, and Platon has spent four decades drawing it out. In PEOPLE
POWER PLATON, the largest exhibition he has ever made and his first in Greece, leaders,
activists, cultural icons, provocateurs and tech titans share one space and one open gaze, an
essay on photography that maps power and its constant change. A portrait holds an instant while
history moves on, and today’s icon becomes tomorrow’s question. At the heart of the show,
messages on human rights travel through a post office and a single phone line, the original social
media. The odyssey ends at home, on Paros, among villages caught before modernity arrived, in
the Chapel of Truth and the streets of Lefkes, where ordinary lives carry the same dignity as
presidents.
