NEON PRESENTS: ATHENS DIES IN DREAMS AT SUNRISE BY ALEXANDROS TZANNIS CURATED BY GALINI NOTI

25.11.2025 - 21.12.2025

Athens Dies In Dreams At Sunrise lands on Filopappou like a double-headed chimera,
part labour relic, part rave afterimage. The hill’s magic, its industrial ghosts and nocturnal
pulse, becomes the perfect host for Alexandros Tzannis, whose practice has always
thrived in the “parasitic”: environmental tension, cohabitation, the uncanny symbiosis
between matter and place.
In the dim, low lighting of Filopappou, the works sharpen into insect-like silhouettes,
sleek, brittle, half-formed creatures clinging to the site’s brutalist bones. The combo of
materials: organic casts, textile remnants, fluid and magnetic, mutates under the
shadows, amplifying their spectral charge.
