Around sixty paintings, suspended across two floors of

Melas Martinos, move through the space like a breath of

life and radiance. Vivian Suter lets the weather, plants and

animals around her studio in Guatemala leave their marks

on every canvas, so each surface is thick with texture, color

and traces of the living world. Visitors walk between and

around the works, and the paintings take over the room.

Small collages by her mother, Elisabeth Wild, join them as

a delicate counterpoint.
