LIVING ROOM PRESENTS BENEATH THE SURFACE – MATERIAL STORIES OF DISPLACEMENT

17.01.2026 - 17.02.2026

Living room’s beautifully haunted exhibition explores the distorted echoes of displaced lives, where
lost homes and fading memories leave indelible imprints on the body and soul.
What lingers when space and time fractures, does the flesh hold onto the unspoken weight of exile?
This exhibition delves into society’s overlooked edges through raw, layered material narratives: the
psychological rifts of displacement, the slow crush of time’s passage, and the fragile threads of
intimacy that unravel only to weave anew.
Curatorially daring, it fuses unpolished art brut with sleek hyper-digital approach, alchemizing
personal torment into a collective pulse that vibrates through the space. Floor lighting casts our
shadows -distorted, looming- over uncanny paintings of childhood dreams worn to whispers,
masterfully calling up the darkness we all carry.
