KAMINOS 44: JANUS CURATED BY Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos

Janus unfolds in sprawling industrial decay. The artists: Rallou Manou, Sagg Napoli, Nausika Pastra, Grigoris Semitecolo, and Mungo Thomson “trap” the visitor in a liminal zone where time fractures. It’s a deliberate rupture, a dive into the void, where history echoes like a ghost. 

With razor-sharp curation from Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos, the show’s metaphysical pulse echoes Giorgio de Chirico’s unsettling urban voids, but with a 21st-century twist: movement and repetition as ritual, presence as fracture. Rallou Manou’s dance legacy pushes this further, suggesting that bodies, like images, navigate the gaps between Self and Other, Now and Then. Janus as a choreography of the irrational within stillness and movement, a collision of the rational and the magical within this desacralized industrial shell.
