KALFAYAN GALLERIES PRESENTS THE EARLIEST WINDS, SOLO EXHIBITION OF KONSTANTINOS MOUCHTARIDIS

Mouchtaridis’s first solo show goes after something painting usually leaves alone: the wind itself. Tempera on wood and watercolour on paper trace a landscape that refuses to sit still, drawing on the Tower of the Winds in Plaka, where each gust once had a face and a symbol. Here identity slips from image into sensation, the artist working through repetition and shifting colour to catch what the eye can’t quite hold. Rustling leaves, a churning sea, the sound wind leaves behind rather than the wind itself, all pulled into surfaces that carry temperature and movement as much as image. It’s landscape painting built around something invisible, felt before it’s ever seen.
