GAGOSIAN ATHENS PRESENTS : OSCAR MURILLO – A Telegram to my dear Suki
Oscar Murillo’s exhibition A Telegram to my dear Suki at Gagosian Athens is a moving reflection on communication, memory, and connection. Through intimate drawings made during flights, layered paintings built from student marks, and deep blue canvases that feel like waves or floods, Murillo explores how we try to reach one another, especially in moments of distance or loss. His works don’t offer answers; instead, they leave space for feeling, for thought, for something new to begin.
This is an exhibition about gesture: quick marks, folded pages, messages that appear and disappear. Yet through this quiet language, something powerful emerges. Murillo’s tribute to fellow artist Suki Seokyeong Kang becomes a broader meditation on how art can hold emotion when words can’t.
