FOUNDATION OF ANARGYRIOS & KORGIALENIOS SCHOOL OF SPETSES (AKSS), SPETSES PRESENTS INSULAR ANIMISMS CURATED BY EVA VASLAMATZI

Set within a landscape where land and sea continuously negotiate their boundaries, this year’s residency, hosted at the Foundation of Anargyrios & Korgialenios School of Spetses (AKSS), turns inward, toward the insular condition as both limitation and possibility.

Building on its previous exploration of collective knowledge systems, the program now attunes itself to the specificities of its ecosystem, inviting artists to engage with emerging mythologies, animist sensibilities, and situated forms of storytelling.

Through these practices, the exhibition come together beautifully, as a porous terrain where inherited divisions, between islands, cultures, and temporalities, are unsettled, giving way to new modes of relation and speculative Mediterranean futures.

Under the artistic direction of Eva Vaslamatzi, with coordination and on-site production by Simone Niarou, the project continues to cultivate an experiential and experimental field of inquiry.
