ELENI KORONEOU GALLERY PRESENTS AS SHE SEES IT: THREE WOMEN THREE GAZES

A single medium, painting, holds a question that these three women explore in unique ways: what is a woman, how is she perceived, and how does she perceive herself? Eleni Bagaki, Sofia Mitsola, and Janice Nowinski respond with visions that move from delicate and dreamlike fragments to mythic figures and raw, powerful gestures. Each gaze is personal, fierce, playful, or uncertain, an intimate story told in color, brush and form.

From one medium and one question, their approaches unfold as oneiric, hyperrealistic or ambiguous, sometimes soft, sometimes bold, sometimes raw, their works speak to one another, opening a space where no single image can contain the whole truth. Through painting alone, they offer us three ways of seeing, and invite us to witness countless ways of being seen.
