In Carte Blanche, Barbara Mavrakaki turns memory into surface.

Working through hours of disciplined attention, the artist builds and peels layers of masking tape until pale trunks, seams and subtle reliefs surface, not as literal copies but as reworked traces of Denmark’s bare winters, Boston’s snow and humid foliage, and other dispersed geographies. Repetition and ritual stabilize thought; small units                 of mark-making accumulate like prayer beads, and the works, some intimate as embrace, some jewel‑like in their restraint, hold the imprint of bodies and time.

The gallery becomes a wall‑written story of emotions, a composed Οδός του Μαρτυρίου where materiality becomes the medium, fragility the pulse.
