In Apocalypse Now and Then, Andra Ursuţa fills DESTE’s slaughterhouse with ghosts. Bronze bodies split open, myth bleeds into nightmare, and history warps into something visceral and unrecognizable. 

Ursuţa stages a world where civilization is rotting in real time, and beauty survives as a bruise.

Her new series, Desolation Ware, pushes bronze to the edge: a helmet vomiting snakes, a jug mutating into desert fever.. The past isn’t safe here, it’s distorted, dismembered, history isn’t stable but shattered, twisted, and eerily alive.

Ursuţa turns classical sculpture inside out, mythic fragments half-remembered, half-dreamt,  revealing how ruins can carry a seductive power and sculpture becomes one with its own mythology.
