CYPHER PRESENTS STRAINING AGAINST THE FRAME BY YORGOS PAPAFIGOS

“Straining Against the Frame” is an immersive multimedia installation where sculpture, video,
animation, and sound collapse into a single charged field.
Yorgos Papafigos turns structures inside out, exposing how systems that claim to protect are
already mechanisms of control. Forms exist, they are caught
mid-emergence, held in place by the very frameworks that produce them, suspended between
becoming and rupture. Meshes bind, surfaces harden, bodies blur with their supports.
Nothing resolves. Everything presses, stretches, and resists. What holds becomes what traps and
the tension never releases.
