BENAKIS MUSEUM / YANIS PAPPAS WORKSHOP PRESENTS RESHAPING FATE CURATED BY THEODOROS BARGIOTAS
Drawing on the eerie imaginary of the Three Fates, mystic tellers and makers of destiny, the
exhibition approaches fate as something that can be shaped, interrupted, and reworked.
These figures are not distant symbols, but active forces, cutting and redirecting the thread of life
through unseen, spell-like rituals.
In dialogue with Yiannis Pappas’s The Three Fates beautiful painting, 80 students from the Athens
School of Fine Arts and the School of Marble Craftsmanship in Tinos reimagine myth through
sculptural form in unexpected and innovative ways. Working across materials and processes, and
under the attentive and protective guidance of Bargiotas, Pappa’s atelier becomes space of
experimentation. Tradition is not preserved, but handled, tested, and transformed into a new
artistic language.
