A historic building in Kypriadou Garden City—once a military command center—has quietly come back to life as a new art space, opening with the group exhibition The Air Is Subtle, Yet It Moves. Curated by Panos Giannikopoulos, the show brings together Greek and international artists whose works speak to the layered histories embedded in both the building and the city around it.
“History pervades the air,” Giannikopoulos writes—and indeed, the exhibition feels suspended between presence and absence, gesture and trace. Revisiting the dream of a ‘garden city’ through a contemporary lens, the works move through fragments of memory, myth, and control, creating a quiet but charged atmosphere. There’s something elusive here—a sense that what’s being unearthed isn’t just history, but something harder to name.
