Β&Μ THEOCHARAKIS FOUNDATION PRESENTS IN AN OVERCAST SKY BY KYLIE MANNING CURATED BY AKIS KOKKINOS

Light from Athens drifts into the gallery and meets the northern shine Kylie Manning carries from Alaska, where she grew up and worked on fishing boats.

Her paintings move between brushstrokes and landscape, built from iron oxide, volcanic ash and crushed stone; gestures that read as both the sweep of an elbow and the opening of a coast.

Translucent curtains form a labyrinth across the second floor, letting each canvas appear and fade like a memory returning. Her first institutional solo show in Greece turns the foundation into a shelter in the middle of the city, wrapped in the weather of the sea.
