HAUS N ATHENS PRESENTS S*#T HAPPENS, DÉBIRAZI BABY By Alex Eagleton

In S#T HAPPENS, DÉBIRAZI BABY*, Alex Eagleton looks back on

life since arriving in Athens, revisiting earlier works and reworking

them for the occasion. Acidic colour, sand, spikes and brutal collage

build new layers onto old images, collapsing memory and the

present into a single unruly surface. Expressive imagery crowds

every inch, while each work is hung with museum precision. Here,

chaos meets authority; disorder finds its frame. Beyond the

paintings, the gallery transforms into a Greek kafenio, a place to

gather, eat, listen and linger. With food by Mina Stone, music,

conversation and a performance by Dear Derrick, the exhibition

spills beyond the walls and into the social life around it.

Life’s a mess. Hang it beautifully.
