ELENI KORONEOU PRESENTS RIOT ON MARS BY EIRENE EFSTATHIOU

What first appears as abstraction reveals itself, on closer inspection, as the ruled grids of school notebooks, faint traces of childhood lingering beneath the surface of memory. In Riot on Mars, Efstathiou weaves together personal archives and found imagery through etching, lithography, silkscreen, and monotype, creating a constellation of cosmos and beautiful unknown galaxies. Questions of ecological survival, motherhood, queerness, and social unrest come together across imagined worlds that blur the boundaries between inner and outer space, allowing imagination to drift.
